At Equipowerment Counseling, we believe in the power of connection
to help people reach their full potential. We offer both traditional
psychotherapy and equine-assisted psychotherapy to provide comprehensive
care for our clients.
Traditional psychotherapy is conducted in an office setting, or a HIPPA compliant virtual setting, and typically involves one-on-one counseling with a mental health provider. It is a process that helps individuals explore and understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Our team of experienced counselors provides a safe and supportive environment to discuss challenges and learn new skills to cope with stress, anxiety and other mental health issues.
Equine-assisted psychotherapy is a unique approach to traditional psychotherapy that utilizes activities with horses and donkeys to provide insight into patterns of behavior, relationships, and emotions. It is a therapeutic experience that uses horses to help people learn how to express their feelings, understand how others perceive them and build confidence. Our equine-assisted psychotherapy sessions bring together horses, mental health professionals, and clients to create a strong and supportive environment for growth.

Individual therapy is an opportunity for you to explore issues, find solutions, and create positive and lasting changes in your life. We understand that each person’s needs are unique and we strive to provide individualized attention and support.
At Equipowerment Counseling, we offer individual therapy sessions with experienced clinicians. Our clinicians are experienced in a wide range of interventions, enabling us to provide a tailored approach to each individual’s unique needs.
Individual therapy is a creative process where thoughts, feelings, and behaviors can be explored in a confidential and supportive atmosphere. Through individual counseling, you may gain insight, set goals for yourself, recognize patterns in your life, and create healthier and more effective ways of managing stress and conflict.
During individual therapy sessions, you will be asked to discuss your goals, needs, and challenges in an open and honest manner. The conversation will often be guided by your therapist, but ultimately your goals, agenda, and direction of the conversation are yours to decide.
If you are interested in exploring individual therapy and taking the first step towards lasting change, contact Equipowerment Counseling today. We look forward to the opportunity to work with you!

(LMFT27747) is a licensed marriage & family therapist and psychoanalyst with over 20 years of experience in both direct therapy and teaching. She specializes in treating depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder. Her contemporary psychoanalytic approach utilizes “in the moment” analysis of symptoms and relational patterns. Through working together, clients learn how to identify feelings and regulate what seems overwhelming or difficult; to calm inner turmoil and find peace in oneself and relationships.
Dr. Corstorphine particularly enjoys working with graduate students and professionals in the community. I love helping clients who are involved in the arts (musicians, actors, painters, dancers). As a supervisor for both interns and advanced therapists, Dr. Corstorphine emphasizes cutting edge techniques for clinicians seeking to move toward growth and change in their work with patients.

Dr. Henning believes that psychotherapy provides a space that enables clients to awaken to themselves, to others, to their lives. Though an environment of safety and trust challenges from the past and present can be unearthed, explored and transformed — Growth is born of struggle, not comfort.
